Hotel Capex Spending 2013

Over half of UK hotels plan to update in 2013. Recession, corporate spending reductions and some mad weather patterns over the past few years has produced a lack of capital expenditure (capex) in the hotel sector.

Hotel room refurbishment falls into two categories, updates and re-branding. Updates are usually required every five to six years and involves adding new elements to the rooms such as carpets, TVs and new beds. Redecoration and the replacement of soft-furnishings often occur faster. Re-branding (following a change in ownership or direction) doesn’t follow a particular time pattern.

Spending decisions cannot be put off forever, particularly as hotel guests now actively share their good and bad experiences on Trip Advisor. 2013 should see some strong spending amongst hotel chains and independents. Buying our hotel marketing list is a superb marketing opportunity for 2013. Bulk email marketing can generate an instant return on investment and our list can easily be manipulated via a spreadsheet. We have the best and most up to date hotel database with features that are unique such as hotel facilities and social media data.
